Everyone has different needs and backgrounds. For this reason, we have designed three different BHS package deals to suit most of our students.
If you feel you may need more (or less) time for training, please enquire as we can make up a package to suit everyone.
Which Basic Handling Skills (BHS) course for me?
> The Full Monty
Exactly the same as the Intro Package PLUS Gear Changing and Hill Starts. Also gives the ride an extra 15mins practice time.
Ideal for those who have never ridden a
Motorcycle before or feel they need to get some further tuition before
the test. Recommended for those
who have never ridden a 2-wheeler before or who have never ridden a motorcycle /
scooter with a clutch.
This package includes:
- Up to 1½hrs of One-on-One Tuition with an Instructor - Practice is done on the actual BHS course - The Basic Handling Skills Test* - Motorcycle and Helmet Hire - Gear changing and Hill Starts
The Full Monty Package costs $200 and takes up to 1¾hrs.
> Intro Package
For those who have never ridden a
Motorcycle before or feel they need to get some further tuition before
the test. Recommended for those
who have never ridden a 2-wheeler before or who have never ridden a motorcycle /
scooter with a clutch.
This package includes:
- Up to 1¼hrs of One-on-One Tuition with an Instructor - Practice is done on the actual BHS course - The Basic Handling Skills Test* - Motorcycle and Helmet Hireage
The Intro Package costs $160 and takes approx 1½hrs.
> Refresher Package
Aimed at those who have ridden before but need to brush up on their skills for the BHS test. Recommended for those with adequate Motorcycle riding experience (Dirt / Farm bikes etc).
This package includes:
- ½hr 1-on-1 tuition with an Instructor (to get you up to speed) - Practice on the actual BHS range - The Basic Handling Skills Test* - Motorcycle and Helmet Hire
The Refresher course is $120 and takes up to 1hr
> Basic Handling Skills Test
This is a straight off BHS test. Recommended for only those who have had recent riding experience
as there is no training prior.
Please ensure that you have practised the exercises listed HERE and are proficient with them prior to taking the test.
The BHS test costs $80 and takes approx 1/2hr. Motorcycle and helmet hire are included in this
price.
* Disclaimer: The Basic Handling Skills Test (BHS) is an actual TEST, therefore the Intro
and Refresher pack is not a guarantee for a pass. Some riders may need
further tuition.
BHS Course Requirements
For all our courses, the following requirements must be met:
- You must be able to provide identification. Drivers Licence / Passport / Over 18 card etc.. If unsure, please ask us prior to the BHS test.
- Suitable clothing must be worn - Jeans / long pants. No shorts or dresses. This is for your own protection.
- Footwear is to be fully enclosed (running shoes, hiking/work boots). No bare feet, jandals, crocs or heels. This is also for your own protection.
These bikes has a real low seat height and
excellent low speed maneuverability - The best bike out there for
learning and sitting the BHS on! We have had little ladies right up to
some pretty tall gents and all have been able to ride it with ease.
This
model of motorcycle was actually designed for stunt riding, hence the
height of the seat and its light weight. It is also great offroad ;)
